542 - 0 million years old

Mollusc is a (large) group of marine animals that have an exoskeleton: a skeleton that is on the outside of their body. A modern example of a mollusc is the common marine/land snail and crab. Based on geological evidence, they emerged during the Cambrian period about 550 million years ago. Since then, a large diversity of molluscs developed and today they comprise about 23% of all marine species. In our fossil and mineral webshop, we sell a large variety of molluscs like the well-known fossil ammonite, fossil goniatites, fossil oysters, belemnites and orthoceras that were also known as the straight horn. The fossils we sell are from the USA, Morroco, UK and from Madagascar.
